Ryan Destiny Is About to Be Everywhere. But First? The Louis Vuitton Show

Fans cannot get enough of Ryan Destiny, and for good reason. With recurring appearances in Grown-ish, a standout starring role in The Fire Inside, and a flourishing solo music career following her departure from the musical trio New Limit, the multi-hyphenate has broken through. Destiny is stirring up a storm in the makeup world with a collaboration with Mac, and the fashion scene is the latest path she’s setting ablaze.

“The Same” singer’s style marries sophisticated and sultry dressing, and she never shies away from a bold accent, whether it be a plunging neckline or dramatic shoulder pads. But, above all, her sartorial choices are a reflection of her vibe. She explains it best: “It’s eclectic, since I go with what my mood is and what I feel most confident in that day. Style is definitely a language, and that’s how I look at the things I choose to wear. I want it to describe my mood without saying a word.”

The front row of Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week was as captivating as the runway with Destiny in attendance. With the help of stylist Scot Louie, Destiny communicated experimental French-chic style in a bubble skirt with a slate-blue geometric pattern, oversize white-and-gray plaid jacket, chocolate-brown boots, and, of course, a brown Louis Vuitton purse.

Read ahead for InStyle’s exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at how Destiny got ready for the French fashion house’s big show.

Why She Loves the Red Carpet

“To be quite honest, I think the only thing I love is that I’m showing off my outfit for a few seconds. It’s a nice rush.”

Her Personal Style

“It’s an evolution. It’s eclectic, since I go with what my mood is and what I feel most confident in that day. Style is definitely a language, and that’s how I look at the things I choose to wear. I want it to describe my mood without saying a word. My everyday style does revolve more around comfort, versus my red carpet style. I tend to not care too much about the comfort part [on the carpet]—gotta get the look.”

“I wanted to go with something that felt luxe and edgy at the same time. As soon as I tried this on we all knew it was the one. It also just felt like me.”

“I definitely didn’t want to do too much. I had earrings that matched my necklace, but I thought it was a bit overpowering, so my stylist and I thought one ring and the necklace was just right. They’re both mixed metal pieces, which I love!”

The Glam

Mashal Afzalzada did my hair and Bernicia Boateng was on makeup. Shoutout to them! They did such a beautiful job. I mostly let the outfit direct where hair and makeup goes. The outfit has a soft palette, so I wanted my makeup to mimic that. Since the outfit feels geometrical with its shape, I wanted the hair to have a blunt cut. I love clean lines.”

What She Loves About Paris Fashion Week

Lena Herrmann

“This is my first LV show. It’s really an honor. Not only is it iconic, but I’ve been obsessed with so many special pieces throughout my life. Seeing these shows come to life and have different creative takes is so inspiring, from the set design to seeing how the garments lay on the body. It’s an experience.”
