Dua Lipa’s Latest Bikini Look Delivered a Lesson in Mismatched Prints

If pulling together an outfit from mismatched patterns is an art, then consider Dua Lipa a modern-day Picasso.

While the pop star is no stranger to taking fashion risks (she’s worn everything from Hello Kitty bras and leather thong underwear to sheer dresses and micro shorts), mixing patterns isn’t exactly one of her style signatures—that is, until now.

On Monday morning, Lipa shared a slideshow of photos presumably from the weekend following her Austin City Limits Music Festival appearance. And despite indulging in a bit of rest and relaxation on the water, she still managed to serve a lesson in print-mixing with her beach-day outfit. Wearing a black-and-red string bikini top with a tiny cherry pattern, the “Houdini” singer opted for a pair of itty-bitty blue-and-white gingham boxer shorts on bottom that didn’t match her swimsuit whatsoever yet somehow worked.

She accessorized with a diamond cross pendant necklace and wore her dark burgundy hair down in loose waves with a middle part. “twas’ a good coupla weeks but homeee is where the heart is!!!! 🇬🇧❤️,” Lipa wrote, teasing her return to the U.K.

Other photos in the carousel showed her lounging on the grass while wearing a different bathing suit entirely. Picking a more classic option this time around, Lipa chose a black two-piece with contrasting white piping and strings. She sported the same cross necklace as before, but pulled her hair back into a sleek bun that showed off her sparkly diamond earrings in the sun.
